FBI National Academy Associates Leadership Certification Program
Course I: Leadership Foundations for Law Enforcement – From Self-Mastery to Team Success (4 days)
The Leadership Certification Program is a series of courses, open to all law enforcement professionals and encompasses the latest strategies, techniques, and real-world leadership scenarios to prepare each participant to better lead their respective unit, shift, or agency into the unpredictable future of law enforcement.
Module 1: Mastering Self-Leadership
At the conclusion of training, students will be able to identify the Five Levels of Leadership, list keys elements and challenges of leadership, create a personal vision statement, and plan ways to implement organizational change through teamwork, in accordance with the principles taught in class.
Module 2: Developing Others for Team Success
At the conclusion of training, students will be able to identify the 5 Levels of Leadership and explain the importance of Level 4 Leadership as it relates to mentoring. Students will also be able to define mentorship, explain why it is important and demonstrate understanding of the process to become an effective mentor. Students will be able to identify the 5 Stages of People Development, explain the roles of modeling, mentoring, monitoring, motivating, and multiplying, and apply strategies learned in class to effectively coach and mentor others.
