Course Description: This three-day course is designed for members of law enforcement engaged in the documentation of crime scenes and evidence. Officers will be introduced to the components of digital cameras and will have the opportunity to learn in-depth about each part of their digital cameras, specifically camera modes and settings. This course will also cover documentation and examination quality (Marco/Microphotography), low light photography, alternate lighting techniques, and infrared and ultraviolet photography. Hands-on practicals are also included in this course which include the use of camera modes and settings while photographing staged crime scenes.
Equipment Required:
• Assigned digital SLR (single lens reflex) camera (Nikon, Canon, Sony)
• Camera batteries (Charged)
• A shutter release cable or camera with built in self-timer setting
• A flash unit with off camera capabilities
• SD cards
• A macro/micro lens or magnifying filters
• Manual for camera and equipment
• A tripod
• Flashlight
