This program takes a close look at the United States Supreme Court landmark case of Terry v. Ohio and NJ case law that follows. It teaches the officer to better understand and utilize this court approved practice with a close look at the following:

2. Is reasonable suspicion more than just observing suspicious conduct?
 
3. How much force can an officer use if the person refuses to cooperate?
 
4. When can an officer resort to producing a firearm in a street encounter?
 
5. What conditions must exist before an officer can conduct a frisk for weapons?
 
6. Can an officer seize contraband from a person without actually seeing it?
 
7. Can an officer transport a person from the scene without making a formal arrest?
