Retired Police Officer Firearms Qualification
The Somerset County Prossecutor's Office Police Training Institute (SCPO PTI) will provide semi-annual Retired Officer Firearms Qualifications throughout the calendar year.
Attendee must be a retired law enforcement officer, possess a NJSP Retired Officer Identification Card, and be no more than 75 years of age.
The training will include familiarization of N.J.S.A. 2C:3-1 (use of force by a civilian) and the firing of both the day and night semi-annual handgun qualification courses as directed by the New Jersey Attorney General.
It should be noted that possession of hollow point ammunition by civilian retired law enforcement officers or the use of high capacity magazines, greater than 15 round capacities, is a violation of New Jersey law and cannot be utilized during this training.

Spring Dates: Friday, April 4, 2025 or Tuesday, May 27, 2024
Fall Dates: Thursday, October 30, 2024 or Wednesday, November 5, 2024
Time: 0800-1200hrs
Cost: Officers who retired from a Somerset County Agency (No fee)
Officers who retired from an Agency Outside of Somerset County ($50.00)
