Domestic Violence Law Updates (SOMERSET COUNTY LEO ONLY)
Please note, this course is designed to provide additional training regarding DV Law, it is not a replacement for DV MATS Training. Officers who attend this training must still complete DV MATS Training through their agency.
This program updates the police administrator, supervisor, patrol officer or investigator in the recent developments in the laws pertaining to domestic violence. The seminar touches upon every aspect of domestic violence law, including harassment, simple assault, and contempt – with a special focus on the newly enacted strangulation statute and Somerset County’s strangulation task force and procedures. In light of the new provisions to the strangulation statute, this course will prove useful for even the most senior officers and administrators.
