Subject Control
This two-day course aims to provide officers with the necessary tactical knowledge and skills to gain control of a resisting subject safely and effectively. The program is based on principles that enable officers to transition between levels of force including de-escalation, empty-hand skills, ground control, weapon retention, and handcuffing. These techniques and concepts are designed by officers for Law Enforcement Officers to provide them a platform in understanding and assessing the challenges they may face and how to establish or re-establish control of a combative person. It is the goal to help each officer obtain the proper mindset in dealing with these situations as well as a team approach will be practiced. This training will also be supported by Legal expert advice which will also provide an understanding of how use of force laws apply to the use of force issues that may be of concern. This is an active hands-on course. The course is taught in the classroom and hands-on Defensive Tactics on the mats.
